William P. “Bill” Green, 72, formerly of Milwaukee, Wisc. and a resident of Foley, was born to eternal life in Foley, April 1, 2013.
He was the beloved husband of the love of his life, Joan (nee Pupp), for 48 years, dear father of Theresa (Norb) Hoff and Heather (Timm) Kannenberg, proud grandfather of Victoria, Kobey, and his namesake Will.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Violet Paukner and Jonathon Green; brother, Albert Green; sister, Katherine Lockhart; in-law family Art (the late Marjorie Ingram, Helen (the late Irv) Pupp, Dolores (the late John) Willems, Ruth (the late Ron) Seebruch, Chuck (Leah) Pupp, Janet (the late Jerry) Gall, Vi (Ray) Scroggins, and Jim (Rose) Pupp; brother-in-law of Les (Katherine, Renee) Lockhart, Carolyn (the late Albert) Green; foster brother of Frank (Cookie) Heisz, Irene (Wayne) Mitchell, Catherine Benoy, Theresa (Steve) Wetter and the late Ivan (Mary) Heisz. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.
Bill and Joan were Catholic Social Services (Milwaukee and Baldwin County) foster parents for 28 years, caring for 180 babies.
Bill was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired from Briggs & Stratton after 31 years.
He also was a great bingo caller for Summerdale “SAIL” program, member of Foley Senior Center and SBMC Senior Circle.
Bill will be missed for his laughter, jokes, hugs and all around just being a great man.
The memorial will be Friday, April 19, with a 1 p.m. visitation and service at 2, at Saint Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church, 601 W. Laurel St., Foley.
