William Puttman Scarbrough

William Puttman Scarbrough, 82, of Lillian, passed away Feb. 22, 2014.

He served his country bravely in the United States Army, reaching the rank of master sergeant. He received the Combat Infantry Badge, five Bronze Campaign Stars, Korean Service Medal, Distinguished Unit Citation, five Good Conduct Medals.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia M. Scarbrough.

He is survived by three daughters, Patricia Mebs of New Jersey, Linda Welsh of Key West, Fla. and Kathy Bond of Florida; two sons, Bill Scarbrough of Orange County, Calif. and Tom Scarbrough of Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A military graveside service with full army honors will be held on March 7, 2014, at 11 a.m., at Barrancas National Cemetery aboard NAS Pensacola.
