William “Ralph” James

William “Ralph” James, 85, a native of Cullman County, and a resident of Foley, died Saturday, April 21, 2012.

 Mr. James was the athletic custodian at Foley High School for 25 years, where he attended and assisted in every home football and basketball game during his tenure.

He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, mechanical work, helping others, and spending time with family and friends.

 He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Pauline White James; brother, Owen James; and parents Charlie and Burlie James.

Mr. James is survived by his son, Guarry James, Foley; daughter, Barbara “Bobbie” (James) Beverly, Robertsdale; three sisters, Imogene Cornelius, Marie Hines, and Mildred Brown, all of Cullman County; four granddaughters, Natasha Beverly (Edward) Pratt, Andrea Beverly, Katie Beverly, and Heather Beverly, all of Robertsdale; one great-granddaughter, Addison Pratt.

 Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 25, at 10 a.m. at Pine Rest Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Pine Rest Memorial Park. A visitation will be April 25 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Pine Rest Funeral Home.
