William T. “Bill” Alexander, age 78, a native of Mobile, and a resident of Robertsdale, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012.
Alexander retired from the United State Army as a Sergeant after serving more than 25 years and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He was awarded a Silver Star, a Bronze Star, National Defense Medal and other campaign medals. Alexander was also ordained as a minister for Christ Assembly of Churches. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Alexander and survived by three sons, Robert (Bonnie) Alexander of Chunchula; William Kenneth (Mary) Alexander of Eight Mile; Samuel Lee Alexander of Wilmer; five daughters, Elizabeth Ann (John) Olivar of San Antonio, Texas; Nancy Darlene Alexander of Baltimore, Md.; Sandra Kay Alexander and Linda Rene Alexander both of Saraland, and Mary Arlene Alexander of Wilmer; 2 brothers, John Alexander of Summerville, S.C., and Nicholas Alexander of Robertsdale; 20 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 at 10:15 a.m. at the Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Fla.
