Martin D. Williams Jr., 92, a resident of Stockton, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008 at Springhill Memorial Hospital in Mobile.

He was a native of Stockton and had lived in Clewiston, Fla., before returning to Stockton in 1947. He worked as a laborer in the sugarcane and furniture industry. He was a member, deacon and former trustee at the Triumph The Church and Kingdom of God in Christ in Stockton and was a Mason.

Survivors include his wife, Roxie Lee Williams of Stockton; seven daughters, Louise Williams of Chicago, Betty J. Williams of Cleveland, Jeannie V. Williams, Annie D. Williams, Jeanette (Milton) Bryant and Linda (Casey) Jones, all of Stockton, and Charlotte Williams of Atlanta; seven sons, Martin (Shirley) Williams III of Garland, Texas, Donald (Alberta) Williams of Chicago, Enoch (Nancy) Williams, Nelson (Brenda) Williams and Timothy Williams, all of Stockton, Raymond Williams of Kansas City, Mo., and the Rev. Labron Williams of Foley; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27 at the Triumph The Church and Kingdom of God in Christ Church in Stockton with Pastor Prince Hazel Nye officiating. Burial was in the Robinson Cemetery in Stockton.
