Mr. Willie "Popeye" James, age 104, of Tensaw, Ala., transitioned into eternal rest on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at his residence.
He attended Blackshear School. He was retired, a community worker and a faithful, and loyal member of the Little Zion Methodist Church of Tensaw, where he served as Chairman of Trustees Board. Those left to mourn his passing is the love of his life and devoted wife, Mrs. Eliza M. James of Tensaw; one devoted and caring daughter, Mary J. Williams of Tensaw, thirteen grandchildren and thirty-two great-grandchildren. Public viewing will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012 from 2 p.m till 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Service will be held, Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Little Zion United Methodist Church in Tensaw with the Rev. Christopher Gilmore, Pastor, officiating and Turner Funeral Chapel, LLc of Atmore directing.
