FAIRHOPE, Ala. — Page & Palette Bookstore in Fairhope, welcomes award-winning author Jacqueline Winspear.

Returning with a new mystery in the popular Maisie Dobbs series, Winspear will read and sign her latest work, An Incomplete Revenge, on Thursday, from 6-8 p.m. The event will take place at the Fairhope Public Library, 501 Fairhope Ave.

In An Incomplete Revenge, Maisie Dobbs, the extraordinary psychologist and investigator, delves into a strange series of crimes in the small rural community of Kent, England.

Her fifth outing calls her to investigate mysterious fires that erupt in the village with alarming regularity, and she discovers that a series of petty offenses suggests a darker criminal element at work.

Maisie grows increasingly suspicious of a peculiar secrecy shrouding the village, and she must draw on all her finely honed skills of detection to solve one of her most intriguing cases.

Ultimately, An Incomplete Revenge is a novel about identity, belonging, forgiveness, acceptance and the hollow tragic legacy of revenge.

Publisher’s Weekly praises, “Winspear vividly evokes England between the wars, when the old order crumbles and new horizons beckoned working women like her appealing heroine … This jaunt back to a bygone era is as satisfying as a spin in Maisie’s MG.”

Winspear is the author of four previous Maisie Dobbs novels, Maisie Dobbs, Birds of a Feather, Pardonable Lies, and Messenger of Truth.

A national bestseller and a New York Times Notable Book, Maisie Dobbs was nominated for seven awards, including the Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best Novel. It won the Agatha and Macavity awards as well as the Alex Award for an adult novel suitable for young adults.

An Incomplete Revenge joins the rest of the Maisie Dobbs series as a Book Sense Selection.

Winspear is originally from the United Kingdom, and now lives in California.
