Gulf Coast Ballet, located in Orange Beach at The Warf, has now opened classes for winter enrollment to new students in all age groups. For the Spring Recital, they will present the beautiful classical ballet of “The Sleeping Beauty” on June 2.
GCB’s sister studio, Triple Threat Studio at The Wharf is also opening winter enrollment in Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballroom, Contemporary and Pilates and has studio space available to instructors in other dance and fitness forms.
Gulf Coast Ballet director Kathleen Tucker reported a standing room only crowd at Sunday night’s performance of The Nutcracker Ballet in Foley.
“We have the Civic Center reserved for two nights next year,” she said. “Our performances give dancers a wonderful opportunity to develop self-confidence. Think how hard it is for many adults to speak in front of an audience, yet we have dancers as young as 3 in our ballets. When you consider that many of our students only started ballet classes in Sep or Oct, it is very impressive how brave they are to be able to perform the first weekend of December. I could not be more proud of them.”
For more information about ballet classe, see gulfcoastballet.com or call Kathleen Tucker 251-269-9297. To learn more about other dance and fitness classes, visit triplethreatstudio.org or call studio manager Andrea Dickey 251-406-2440.
