ORANGE BEACH, Ala. — The WI Sno-birds meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of February and March at 8:30 am at the Orange Beach Community Center (OBCC) on Canal Road.   The first half hour is for coffee, donuts and visiting.   There is also a puzzle/book exchange and sign-up for events, day trips and fun days for golf. 

   On February 2 our meeting began at 9 am with a song reminding us of the blizzard back home and why we come to the Gulf!   Our guest speaker was Ms. Kit Alexander, Director of Environmental Engineering in Orange Beach.  Rather than speak about the Gulf Oil spill, she turned it into a Question and Answer session.  Some important information:

   *the tap water on the Gulf is safe

   *the seafood from the Gulf is safe

   *Ms. Alexander's office has a special light that can "fingerprint" if a suspicious

       substance is actually tar or oil from the spill

   *environmental agencies are learning a lot about this unique event
