Dr. Hilaire Candace Wood and Will G. Fisher Jr. were united in marriage May 23, 2009 on the Grand Lawn of The Grand Hotel, Point Clear.

Carl Owen, grandfather of the bride, officated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy C. Owen of Fairhope and Dr. and Mrs. Leighton Wood of Kingsport, Tenn. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Ruth Reavis, the late Paul Reavis, Jean Wood and the late Kenneth Wood of Manchester, Tenn.

The bride earned her bachelor’s degree from Auburn University and then received her doctor of medicine degree from the University of South Alabama in Mobile. She completed her medical training and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Texas-Hermann Hospital inHouston. She is a Fellow with Obstetrical and Gynecological Associates P.A. group in Houston, completing a sub-specialty fellowship in Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Will G. Fisher Sr. of Birmingham. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Norrell of Birmingham and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Fisher Sr. of Brentwood, Tenn.

He also received his bachelor’s degree from Auburn University and is a chemical engineer with Exxon Mobil in Houston.

The bride wore a cream, strapless, Vera Wang gown with a satin sash and antique pin at the waist.

Tiffany Leigh Wood, sister of the bride, of Seattle, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Heather Wood Black, sister of the bride, of Brentwood, Tenn., and Lisa Fisher Beard of Houston, sister of the bridegroom.

Will G. Fisher Sr., father of the bridegroo, served as best man. Groomsmen were Jeff Beard, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, of Houston, Ross McKinnon of San Antonio, Texas, and Adam Daniels of Sacramento, Calif.

Kathleen Sheffield served as flower girl. Bailey James Black and Owen Dean Black, nephews of the bride, served as ring bearers.

A reception in the Magnolia Room followed the ceremony.

There was a mojito bar and live music by The Real Deal.

After a honeymoon trip to Lake Como, Italy, the couple reside in Houston.
