The Woody Setzer Memorial Golf Tournament at Cotton Creek Club at Craft Farms will be held this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with a shotgun start.
Lunch will be served at 11:30.
The event is sponsored by GulfTel Communications and the GulfTel Pioneer Club.
In order to establish a scholarship in memory of longtime GulfTel manager Woody Setzer who passed away last year, GulfTel Communications, along with the GulfTel Pioneer Club will hold a four- man scramble golf tournament Saturday August 4th at Craft Farms.
Setzer, a resident of Gulf Shores, spent his career in the communications business. He retired as an executive at BellSouth in Birmingham, moved to Baldwin County and became a manager and director of Gulf Telephone Co. and later the Senior Manager of Regulatory Affairs for GulfTel Communications.
To honor his memory and to provide scholarships for deserving students, the Pioneer Club has established this tournament and asks the golfing public and especially members of Woody's home club at Craft Farms to join in the effort.
The cost is $500 per team and includes cart, green fees, two mulligans and lunch. Additionally there will be refreshments and a chance for one of many door prizes. Individual players at $135 each are welcome and will be paired with other to make a team.
There are also corporate and individual sponsorship opportunities available, contact Kevin Grimes, Tournament chairman at 952-5384.
