William Harlis Word, 92, a native of Wedowee and resident of Foley, died Thursday, April 1, 2010.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Foley, a former member of the Lions Club, and former member of the Merchants Association of Marion.
Survivors include his wife Mary Plott Word of Foley; daughter, Susan Word Holman of Foley; son David Word of Gainesville, Fla., daughter-in-law, Shannon Barnes of Gainesville, Fla.; two grandsons, Brantley Holman of Panama City, Fla., and Fain Holman of Foley; granddaughter, Amy Word of Gainesville, Fla.; and a brother, George N. Word of McDavid, Fla.
Visitation begins at 1 p.m. with funeral services at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 3 at Pine Rest Funeral Home.
The family requests memorial donations be made to First Baptist Church of Foley, P.O. Box 307, Foley, AL 36535; or ASERA Care Hospice, 1113-A N. McKenzie St., Foley, AL 36535.
