Work on Perdido Beach Boulevard shifting to nights

Posted

Resurfacing of Perdido Beach Boulevard will shift to nights Sundays through Thursdays to accommodate spring break traffic, Alabama Department of Transportation officials said.

Crews have been working since Feb. 8 to resurface the road. Throughout the project, ALDOT has reduced traffic to single lanes.

Construction is underway between Romar Beach Public Access and Gulf State Park. Work is expected to take three to four weeks. The second phase of work will be between Cotton Bayou Public Beach Access and the Perdido Pass Bridge.

Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed in late March or early April. Officials ask that motorists use extreme caution while driving through the construction areas.
