DAPHNE, Ala.—Daphne’s Public Works Department issued an update for the roadwork currently taking place in the Lake Forest subdivision of Daphne, detailing work accomplished this week and plans for next week.

The project began with work on Ridgewood Drive. In the past week, work has continued on Ridgewood Drive, Worchester Road and Lawson Road.

Since May 6:

Asphalt was removed between the south Worchester entrance and Lawson Road along the northbound lane and curbing was placed.

Sod has been placed in medians where roadwork has been completed.

Driveway aprons have been completed where construction has already occurred.

Work on an underdrain has been completed.

In the coming week, contractors anticipate work to commence between 502 and 486 Ridgewood Drive and 485 and 495 Ridgewood Drive.

Construction is expected to move to the southbound lane between Worchester and Lawson Road. City grounds crews are expected to begin work on Monday planting bead and tree canopies in the construction zones.

Lake Forest residents can continue to expect traffic delays as a result of the construction during working hours. Flaggers will be placed along the impacted areas to direct traffic.

Daphne’s Public Works Department will hold status meetings regarding the Lake Forest capital road improvements each Thursday and send email updates on Fridays.
