SPANISH FORT, Ala.—Fitzpen Place will welcome renowned concert pianist Julian Toha at 7 p.m. March 10.
According to Toha’s official website, www.juliantoha.com, the virtuoso is recognized worldwide for his “passionate performance, poetic imagination and technical command,” but it is the soloist and chamber musician’s “high emotional and original interpretations” that captivates audiences.
Toha debuted with the Ars Flores Symphony Orchestra and the Florida State University Philharmonic two years ago and has since performed aboard in Spanish, Italy, France and Germany.
Although he earned his bachelor’s degree in piano performance from FSU, Toha currently studies under Ian Jones with the Royal College of Music in London. He also established Hidden Reflections in 2009, a performing arts company dedicated to incorporating nontraditional art forms into the performance of classical music.
The Fitzpen Place concert is free and open to the public, but contributions to the scholarship fund established by the Baldwin County Music Teachers’ Association are welcome.
The association, in concert with Broussard’s Music and Fitzpen Place, will also host a master class led by Toha benefiting pre-selected students at the performance venue on March 11.
