The YMCA of South Alabama will host a New Year’s open house from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, at all five branches in Mobile and Baldwin counties.

“The YMCA is here to help people put their New Year’s health and fitness resolutions into action. It’s the perfect time to kick-start an exercise program,” said Mark L. Hanke, CEO. “Our trained, professional staff will be available to answer questions and guide individuals in designing wellness routines that address their particular needs.”

The public is invited to attend the open house and become acquainted with the exercise equipment; a variety of fitness classes offered daily; basketball and racquetball courts; indoor and outdoor swimming pools; and more. New members pay no joining fee and membership includes a free fitness assessment.

The Bounds Family YMCA is located at 8051 Whispering Pines Road in Daphne (626-0888). The Snook Family YMCA is located at 2560 S. Pine Street in Foley (970-3003). Members join at the location of their choice and are entitled to use facilities at all five branches in Baldwin and Mobile counties.

YMCA programs and services also include the “Cub Club” Child Development Center, after-school care, and youth sports.
