Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Alan Yoder of Birmingham announce the engagement of their daughter, Katharine Anne Yoder, to Major Callies Hollis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Micheal Ervin Hollis of Fairhope.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Jack M. Whitney II and the late Mr. Whitney of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Esser Yoder Sr. of Naples, Fla.
She is a graduate of Mountain Brook High School and received a degree in psychology from Rhodes College where she joined the Kappa Delta sorority. She is pursuing a degree in nursing from Samford University.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. William John Callies and the late Mr. Callies of Fairhope, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Ervin Hollis of Westlake, La.
He graduated from Fairhope High School and earned a degree in political science from Millsaps College where he became a member of the Kappa Alpha Order. He is employed by Regions Bank in Birmingham.
The couple will exchange vows June 7, 2008 at the Cathedral Church of the Advent in Birmingham.
