She graduated from Providence School of Nursing in 1962. She retired from DCH in Tuscaloosa in 2004. Her love and dedication for nursing kept her working even after retirement, as a nurse at Bryce Hospital in Tuscaloosa.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Tuscaloosa Cancer Treatment Center, Moffit Cancer Center of Tampa, Fla., and Alacare Hospice.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Survivors include her children, Robert Ziegler, Edgar Ziegler, Lesha Ziegler Mitchell and Kathryn Ziegler; 11 grandchildren, Trey and Stephanie Mitchell, Brandi, RosePearl, Dawn, Analiza, Desiree, Andrealee, Edgar Jr., Shanna and John Ziegler; four sisters and two brothers.

The family honored her wishes for cremation. A memorial service will be held in Gulf Shores at a later date.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Cancer Treatment Center of Tuscaloosa or a charity of one’s choice.
