Edward F. “Ed” Zimmerman, a resident of Foley, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2008 at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center, Foley.
He was in the fishing tackle business for many years. No one made a crab trap like Ed. He was a longtime member of the Foley Rotary Club and had the distinguished honor to be selected as a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a proud member of the First Presbyterian Church in Foley, where he attended.
Survivors include two daughters, Andrea Zimmerman Bennett of Pensacola, Fla., and Amy Zimmerman Gleaton of Brewton; brother, Robert F. Zimmerman of Paoli, Pa.; four grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at noon with funeral services at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 29 at First Presbyterian Church of Foley. Interment will follow at Pine Rest Memorial Park in Foley.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Shriners Hospital for children, Joppa Shrine Temple, Biloxi, MS 39532, or Rotary International Foundation, c/o Foley Rotary Club, P.O. Box 577, Foley, AL 36536.
