GULF SHORES, Ala – The Alabama Gulf Coast Area Chamber of Commerce recently presented its island Spirit Awards for the month of November to Mickey Greiner of the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo.

In presenting the award to Mr. Reynolds, Island Sprit Chairman Nora Mandoki cited the time and energy Ms. Greiner spends year-round assisting visitors and answering their questions. “She loves her job and it shows,” said Ms. Mandoki. “She makes sure everyone's visit to the zoo is enjoyable as well as educational.”

Additionally, when Ms. Greiner isn't busy at the zoo, she can often be found spending countless hours volunteering at the Gulf Shores schools and other organizations.

The Island Spirit Award is presented monthly by the Alabama Gulf Coast Area Chamber. The award was designed to give special recognition to individuals who make special contributions to the quality of life we enjoy in the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area.
