Foley, Ala. - There will be a Zumba fitness event on Friday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Foley Elementary School gymnasium to benefit the upcoming Relay for Life event in Foley.
The charity event, called Zumbathon, includes a $10 donation from participants which will benefit the teams in the Relay for Life of South Baldwin event on April 8 at Heritage Park.
"This is the first time we've done a Zumbathon before the relay," Zana Price, co-chair of the relay, said. "With all the excitement about Zumba, we thought we would try this.
Sandy Davenport, a licensed Zumba Fitness instructor, will team with the American Cancer Society to run the event. Davenport will lead participants in 90 minutes of Zumba dance fitness moves to Latin and international music.
"There will be different combinations of slow and fast so whatever level you are comfortable with, you can participate in," Price said.
