The Alabama High School Volleyball Coaches Association (AHSVCA) announced its 2026-27 Coaches of the Year, Players of the Year and All-State Team awards on Thursday, and plenty of local individuals were featured.

Awards were voted on by AHSVCA member coaches and recognized by school classification.

To start out, highly accomplished Bayside Academy volleyball coach Ann Schilling took home Single-A Private Coach of the Year honors:

"Schilling’s remarkable career at Bayside Academy continues to add to one of the most accomplished résumés in high school volleyball.

In August 2026, Schilling recorded her 1,800th career victory, ranking third nationally in career victories. She has guided the Admirals to 28 state championships, including a national-record 21 consecutive titles from 2002 through 2022.

Bayside Academy holds the national record with 31 state volleyball championships overall. An AHSVCA, AHSAA, Mobile Sports and Bayside Academy Hall of Fame inductee, Schilling’s honors also include the 2019 AVCA High School National Girls Coach of the Year, 2019 Sports Imports/AVCA Courage Award and 2010 NFHS National Coach of the Year."

GCM wrote a feature on Schilling's career journey and many accomplishments back in September, which can be found here.

Additionally, Spanish Fort's lone senior, Cailyn Boykin, was named the AHVSCA 5A Player of the Year after she helped lead her team to a third straight state title. The daughter of head coach Gretchen Boykin, Cailyn's accomplishments include:
